The following is the Eulogy that Tony (Martha"s husband) had printed on the back of the program at the funeral.

See how they love one another." That's what pagans said about the early Christians. Martha KingAndriacco exemplified this. She was love in action.

Martha's generosity extended to sharing her beautiful artwork as gifts that we are fortunate to have to remember her by. But Martha gave much more than things—she gave of herself, whether it was in holding babies that needed to be held or in caring for her loving husband.

Tony wanted to share the following:

Martha's strongest attributes, of which there were many, were her kindness and compassion for others. Whenever she learned of someone being sick, she would always call them or send them a get-well card. If she heard that someone lost a spouse, parent, child, or friend, she would send them a sympathy card. She couldn't do enough to help those in need. It wasn't far into our marriage when her kindness rubbed off and I was following suit.

What was it that first attracted me to Martha?  Right off I loved her wonderful sense of humor. She loved to tease, but never dealt out more than she was willing to receive. Martha dearly loved babies and lamented the fact that she didn't marry young enough to have her own children. But Martha always said she had a good life with no complaints. She traveled the world with her friends before we met, and with me once we wed. And after working 30 years in property management at Wiliamsburg Apartments, she cared for babies for nine years part-time at Droopy Drawers Day Care Center. I think the babies there loved her as much as she loved them.

She also loved her niece Kristen and nephew P.J. and spoiled them considerably from the time they were born. Besides her family and friends, Martha dearly loved the congregation of Hartzell Methodist Church and struggled to attend services there as much as her health situation would allow. The past two years weren't good to Martha as her health progressively declined.

She was diagnosed with emphysema and C.O.P.D., both of which were exacerbated when she contracted the shingles virus in both eyes, necessitating countless visits to the eye doctor and daily eye drops. Six months ago, she developed a serious lung infection which didn't show any signs of abatement when scanned. Consequently, she was admitted to Good Samaritan Hospital on April 6. A brain scan because of head pain and recent memory lapses found a tumor on April 7.  Before a biopsy could be done, Martha sustained what her pulmonologist called a "very bad" heart attack and pneumonia in one lung. She was placed in the Intensive Care Unit on April 10 and went home to God on April 13.

She will be missed by her family, friends, former co-workers, and especially the congregation at Hartzell United Methodist Church.

But no one will ever miss her more than me. She was truly my life's blood. She spoiled me and loved me dearly, as I did her. From her I learned the deeper meaning of love as we grew more and more comfortable in our relationship. I've learned to replace judgement with love as Martha did. I often err, but I am still trying.

Martha was seen by a retinue of medical professionals—pulmonoldgist, cardiologist, infectious disease specialist, intensive care specialist. She got the best of care, yet couldn't be saved.

She is now in the hands of our loving Savior.

Martha fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith (2 Tim 4:6). Rest in peace, kind soul.

Martha had such a positive impact on our class. She was a very giving person who devoted a lot of her time, energy, and effort so that we would enjoy our reunions, and she did that with a smile. She helped create a feeling of community for us, and I am grateful to her for that. My deepest sympathy to Martha's family and friends. She will be missed.

Martha has been a good friend for a number of years. My parents lived at Williamsburg Apts (where Martha worked)for a long time. They had a special relationship with her. She was one of the shining lights of our class, especially when working on multiple reunions. She will be dearly missed by us all! My thoughts are with Tony and her extended family

Martha and I became friends when we pledged Kytyves sorority in our sophomore year at Woodward. Over those next three years we had lots of fun.  Over the years we worked on the reunions and In most recent years we attended the "Dive Dates" that Carol Meier organized many years ago.  Today we attended her funeral.  In the service program,  her husband Tony shared his feelings about her generosity and love of others. I will ask Bob Jacobs if he can add Tony's comments to this site. After reading his comments, I realized that I don't think I ever saw her be anything but kind, and up beat.  She checked on me regularly over this past year when I had health issues..  She will be missed by our group and many others.  Our sympathy to Tony and extended family.  Karen and Bill Stewart.

Wow, we have lost another classmate and friend.  i first met Martha when Istarted at Woodward. She lived down the street from Barb Binkley, whom I was dating at the time.  Our relationship as friends really did not gel until I became involved in our 40th class reunion.  By that time she had assumed the role as Woodward 1962 alumni treasurer. A job she held until she passed this past week.  i was really happy for Martha when I found out she was getting married to Tony.  Tony turned out to the perfect match for Martha.  Martha was the consumate professional when it came to managing our class funds.  She was always available to take care of our funds and did it well.  i will miss Martha and her advice as to running our reunions.  Please go back and read her husbands comments on her obituary.  he did a great job of summing up Martha.
