I have been very active since graduation from Woodward. I attended Ohio University and the University of Cincinnati, graduated from UC with a BBA in Finance and Marketing.
I then served 6 years in the Air Force, 1 year on Active duty and 5 years active reserve.
Upon returning to Cincinnati, after active duty, I returned to work for Cincinnati Time Recorder, where I had worked during college. In 1968 I was transferred to Cleveland Ohio. I would be transferred back to Cincinnati in 1970.
While in Cleveland, I was introduced to Jane Detwiler Long, who was living in Cincinnati, and a widow. Jane's husband was a lst Lt in the Army and was killed in September of 1969. Jane had a daughter (Stefanie) who was 1 year old and a son (Gregory) who was 6 weeks old.when I and Jane met in February 1970. In October 1970 Jane and I married and have had 2 more children, Kelly and Bradley and now have 11 grandchildren
I served various positions at Cincinnati Time ultimately becoming V.P. of Sales and Marketing. Cincinnati Time Recorder was bought by General Signal and subsequently asked me to become V.P. of one of their companies in Connecticut.
As I had four small children at the time, I decided not to move and bought interest in the Ohmart Corporation. In 1985 I obtained 75% of Ohmart and became Chairman and President.
In 1991 I had one of those life changing events occur, a major heart attack. After that I decided to sell the business, and devote my time to more philanthropic ventures. I have spent my time since mentoring young entrepreneurs, mentoring student athletes at UC and serving on the boards of 10 corporate and volunteer organizations. I have also trained with a professional magician and have become known as the "Great Dewdini”.
